About Course

What is in this course?

  • 20 case discussions of unseen cases (Exam component 1)
  • 19 lectures on treatment biomechanics (Exam component 2)
  • 8 case discussions of communications (Exam component 3)

Examination Structure:

  • Component 1 – Unseen Cases is a two-hour diagnostic examination (in two sections) related to treatment planning and patient care with 4 sets of patient records.
  • Component 2 – Biomechanics of Treatment is a two-hour examination related to treatment with heavy emphasis on biomechanics.
  • Component 3 – Communications is a one-hour Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) over 4 stations, on aspects of communication relating to orthodontic treatment.

What You Will Learn?

In this course, Professor Rabie will prepare you for both components 1, 2 & 3 of Part B of the MOrth RCSEd examination.

For Component 1, you will go through hours of unseen cases discussions on every clinical orthodontic condition possible. You will learn Professor Rabie’s process of how to objectively and accurately diagnose each unseen case, and how to arrive at different treatment options, starting with the most mainstream to alternative treatment plans.

For Component 2, you will dive into treatment biomechanics, from space closure with sliding and frictionless mechanics, to brackets, wires, auxiliaries, types of movement, and more.

For Component 3, you will go through hours of communications in a role-play discussion setting on every clinical orthodontic condition possible. Professor Rabie plays the role of the patient’s parent, who will pose questions relating to the case given, and you will learn how to explain the diagnosis and treatment plan of case in Layman’s terms.
